  • Hiking and Nature Trails: Explore the beautiful hiking and nature trails that wind through the retreat for over 3-miles. Enjoy the scenic views, native plants, and animals, and don’t forget to check out our awesome military-inspired ropes course!

  • Swimming Pool: We all know the Texas summers are no joke so during your stay at Camp David Retreat, cool off in our sparkling swimming pool, perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot summer day. Our poolside loungers provide a comfortable and relaxing with a cold drink on the hottest of the Hill Country days.




  • Outdoor Dining and BBQ: Enjoy a meal outdoors on our massive 100-foot-long deck with BBQ grills and picnic areas perfect for gathering. The deck features misters throughout and can hold up to 100 people. The kitchen has 2 extra-large fridges and a deep freezer plus Viking gas appliances and an island prep area making your family BBQ easy to enjoy!

  • Hamilton Pool Preserve: Enjoy one of the most photographed and amazing natural swimming holes in Texas! Hamilton Pool Preserve is known for its stunning waterfall, nature trails, and gorgeous blue-turquoise water perfect for a day of swimming and picnicking.   • Wimberley Zipline Adventures: Experience the thrill of zip-lining over the Texas Hill Country. You won’t want to miss the stunning views of the surrounding landscape with its staggering hills, and the gorgeous Blanco River!

  • Enchanted Rock State Natural Area: Take a hike and visit Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, a geological wonder in the heart of the Hill Country. Jutting up from the earth is a massive pink granite dome offering hiking and incredible panoramic views from the summit. Make sure to get your passes online beforehand and bring plenty of water!

  • Science Mill: For those looking for an indoor option (they also have an outdoor area), check out the Science Mill in historic downtown Johnson City. Located in a refurbished mill, this is an interactive science museum perfect for kids and adults alike. Visitors enjoy hands-on exhibits and educational programs with a focus on STEM experiences.

  • Barton Springs Pool: Cool off at Barton Springs Pool, a world-famous natural spring-fed pool in the heart of Austin, offering cool, refreshing water year-round. This is a perfect location for a swim or a relaxing day by the water.

  • Zilker Park: After swimming at Barton Springs, head across the street to enjoy Zilker Park, a large park with plenty of space for picnics, frisbee, and other outdoor activities. Home to the Zilker Botanical Garden and the Austin Nature and Science Center, Zilker is more than a grassy field in the heart of the Live Music Capitol of the World!

One of our favorite activities is to experience the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail which offers scenic views of downtown Austin.
